LATEST TRENDS – Inspired by Yves: ultramarine, the summer colour

It’s a colour with a history. Ultramarine was once more precious than gold and Yves Klein made it his signature shade. The reason why blue never goes out of fashion is also because blue is man’s favourite colour, across all continents and cultures.

The strong colour goes especially well with natural surfaces such as raw stone, concrete or untreated wood and looks elegant with shiny materials such as brass and marble. If you paint a whole wall in royal blue, it’s best to combine it with reserved shades to allow the colour to really pop. Conversely, fresh blue accents quickly brighten up a minimalistic interior. After all, blue is a colour with a narrative character that reminds us of the sea and a clear summer’s day, which always puts us in a good mood.
